This is my colour project page, for this project i had to research about colour and how it is used in a lot of art work and how it gives more meaning into the artwork.I first started my research by going to the Tate Museum in London where i did a lot of research on how colour is used and how it helps to give a suitable feel to the artwork and meaning. After this i then went home and did an observational drawing of a canvas i have in my room of smarties that have been arranged to form a heart. I thought this was really good to do my observational of as it had a lot of colours and shadows to add detail into it.

Ideas:
The page of the left is a Van Gogh inspired artwork we did, we did this by taking a photo of an emotion we was feeling. I was feeling in a laughing mood so i took a photo of me laughing. From this is thought of the colours that relate to the emotion i was feeling, the colour i came up with was pink and i thought yellow meant happy and pink is more of a bright colour that i thought would link to laughing. I then changed the background to experiment all different techniques i could use and how different it would look and what effect it gives to the viewer.
The page of the right is a tissue collage i did of the postcard i got from the Tate Museum, I made it into my own version so i can make it into a fabric piece by print transferring by printing it with transfer ink.

Final piece plan and ideas
For my final piece i looked through my book to see what parts of my work really jumped out at me and made me think colour and how it is used. I first saw a Sonia Delaney dress and i knew straight a way that was what i was going to have my colour on. I then looked through the complementary colour experiments we did and finally came up with an idea on the colours to use. I ended up using yellow, green, red and purple as they all complemented each other from the colour wheel i did. I then decided that the background looked really bland and i decided to take one on Sonia's designs and change it to create my background to go behind my dress design.
